In “The Mur­de­rer”, a short story by Ray Brad­bury from 1953 (!) that he also re-​worked for the TV short from 1990, a man starts fight­ing against noise pol­lu­tion, and ends up fin­ding hims­elf in psych­ia­tric treatment.
